About the Dodge Durango Pursuit

With the mix of performance, interior space, and functionality, you would think the Dodge Durango was always made specifically to be a police vehicle. With standard all-wheel drive and a choice of two engines, the Durango Pursuit has no difficulty putting down power, and the suspension tuned specifically for law enforcement use makes maneuverability just as easy. It comes with a heavy-duty 220-amp alternator to power all of the necessary accessories, and it comes equipped with wiring prep for a wide range of such accessories. It even comes with an impressive towing capacity, as well as standard Trailer Sway Control. Although, with 43.3 cubic feet of cargo space behind the back seat, you won’t need a trailer to carry a ton of gear.

Dodge Durango Pursuit Features

Dodge Durango Pursuit

Pursuit Performance

The Durango Pursuit comes with a standard 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 that produces 293 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque. That’s more than enough to get you going, but if you’re looking for more power, there is an available 5.7-liter HEMI V8. This engine produces 360 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque. Both engines come with heavy-duty cooling, so you don’t have to worry about an overheating engine stranding officers. Whichever engine you choose, you get standard all-wheel drive and law enforcement-tuned suspension that includes rear load-leveling suspension. The braking system is also police-specific, with heavy-duty discs on all four wheels, an anti-lock system, and Rain Brake Support. Thanks to all of this, the Durango Pursuit is rated to tow 6,200 pounds with the standard V6, or 7,200 pounds with the V8.

Dodge Durango Pursuit Interior

Unmatched Versatility

The Durango Pursuit is loaded with features to make officers’ jobs easier, reducing fatigue and keeping decision-making skills sharp. Tons of front seat space makes it a comfortable place to be for hours on end, as well as easy to get in and out of in a hurry. The ParkView® Rear Back Up Camera takes the guesswork out of maneuvering in and out of tight spaces, and Tri-Zone Automatic Temperature Control keeps everyone inside comfortable. Blind Spot Monitoring and the Rear Cross-Path Detection System come standard, helping to keep everyone safe. Since the civilian version of the Durango comes with a third row of seats, the cargo space behind the back seat in the Pursuit is immense, measuring 43.3 cubic feet. This makes it perfect for K9 use, or just hauling a lot of gear.

Dodge Durango Pursuit

Technology to Make the Job Easier

The Durango Pursuit is much more than just a civilian Durango with some included mounting brackets. Dodge thought of all kinds of small details, like red LED interior dome lights that let you see what you’re doing without alerting those outside to your presence. The Durango Pursuit also has available Uconnect 5 with built-in navigation, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, and Integrated Voice Command, eliminating the need for any kind of add-on navigation hardware. And in the event of unauthorized use, the Sentry Key® Antitheft Engine Immobilizer will put a quick stop to it. The Technology Group option package gives you extra useful features like Advanced Brake Assist, rain-sensitive windshield wipers, LaneSense® Lane Departure Warning Plus, Full-Speed Forward Collision Warning Plus, and Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop.
