About the Ram 1500 RHO
Offroading fans have been turning to Ram trucks for years, with off-road-focused nameplates like the Power Wagon being offered all the way back to 1945. But there’s more to off-roading than towing capacity; sometimes you want Baja-ready levels of performance. There’s a Ram for that kind of driving – the Ram 1500 RHO. The RHO is powered by a high-output version of the 3.0-liter Hurricane engine and comes with tons of standard off-roading equipment. The RHO boasts 11.8 inches of ground clearance, massive 35-inch all-terrain tires, an incredibly sophisticated suspension setup, and a full set of skid plates. Inside, you’ll find the levels of comfort and even luxury that you’ve come to expect from the Ram 1500. Both the interior comfort and wild performance are byproducts of the absolute cutting edge of automotive technology found on the exhilarating Ram 1500 RHO.
What The Critics Say
What’s New for 2026
The only changes to the purpose-built Ram 1500 RHO for the 2026 model year come in the form of some adjustments to the exterior paint color option list. Discontinued colors from last year’s model include Flame Red Clearcoat, Hydro Blue Pearlcoat, and Granite Crystal Metallic Clearcoat. New for 2026 exterior colors include Canyon Lake, Delmonico Red Pearlcoat, Molten Red Pearlcoat, Serrano Green Metallic, and Silver Zynith. These are the only noteworthy changes to the Ram 1500 RHO for 2026.
Ram 1500 RHO Features
Blistering Performance
There are plenty of off-road vehicles out there, including several offerings just from Ram. But when you want an off-road performance vehicle, the RHO competes in a much smaller class. With noticeably more standard horsepower than a Ford F-150 Raptor or any version of the Chevrolet Silverado 1500, the RHO is powered by a high-output version of the 3.0-liter Hurricane I6 engine that produces an impressive 540 horsepower and 521 lb-ft of torque. That power is sent to all four wheels while a combination of a High-Speed E-Locker Rear Axle, a Bilstein® Black Hawk® e2 Shock System, and nine different drive modes gives the RHO incredibly sure footing even at high speeds. With Launch Control Mode activated, the RHO will hit 60 MPH in just 4.6 seconds.
Luxurious Interior
The Ram 1500 is rightly famous for its exceptionally high-quality interior and the RHO offers a performance-themed and well-equipped version of this interior. You get standard 12-way power heated leather-trimmed front bucket seats and the back seats even recline, a class-exclusive feature. The RHO comes with a 9-speaker stereo system which is already more than most pickups. If you’re looking for something well beyond even that, there is an available 19-Speaker Harman Kardon® system. Your passenger will be comfortable thanks to the dual-zone climate control. They’ll be entertained as well with the available 10.25-inch passenger side entertainment touchscreen that even features an HDMI port for playing videos. Available dual wireless charging pads are another feature you won’t find on any competing trucks. While the fire-breathing performance of the RHO might be enough to set it apart from its rivals all by itself, it wouldn’t be a Ram without an exceptional interior.
Cutting-Edge Technology
It’s one thing to build a vehicle that goes fast on the road. To build something that delivers consistent performance across a wide variety of changing terrain types takes a whole different kind of engineering prowess. That’s why the RHO comes with features like a Bilstein® Black Hawk® e2 Shock System which constantly monitors and adapts to chaging speed, throttle position, braking, torque, and steering angle to make sure that you always have the best possible traction. There are nine different drive modes as well to give the various vehicle systems an advantage in figuring out how best to handle the environment and your driving style. These are: Mud/Sand, Rock, Baja, Valet, Auto, Tow, Snow, Sport, and Custom. At the other end of the driving spectrum when you’re just cruising on the highway, there is available Hands-Free Active Driving Assist which lets you take your hands off the wheel, sit back a bit, and relax inside the Ram 1500 RHO.
