For as fiercely competitive as the compact SUV segment is, few models really stand out. One very notable exception is the Jeep Compass, a vehicle that brings style and genuine off-road ability to a segment of otherwise nearly identical vehicles. With more power and standard equipment than the competition, the Compass is an attractive alternative to the ordinary. All-wheel drive comes standard, as does a 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen featuring standard Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration. Its 2,000-pound maximum towing capacity is among the highest in the segment and aesthetic touches like available two-tone paint options and standard LED headlights of the dynamic Jeep Compass add up to a real standout vehicle.
Not much has changed for the 2025 model year when it comes to the Jeep Compass. One notable change is the discontinuation of last year’s Latitude Lux trim level, reducing the total number of trims down to 4. Aside from this small update, the versatile Jeep Compass soldiers on essentially unchanged from last year’s version.
Right from the start, the Jeep Compass lets you know that it means business. Even for those who don’t plan on taking it off-road, the Compass packs standard AWD, a huge help in the snow and rain that everyone in Ohio is all too familiar with. But if you do plan to go off-road, even light off-roading, the Compass is by far the star of the compact segment. Option up to the Trailhawk trim and you’ll get off-road tires, a “crawler” low gear, a raised suspension, and a whole lot more specialized trail-tackling gear. While other companies offer off-road packages that mostly just boil down to appearance packages, the Trailhawk brings legitimate performance credentials. The Compass earned those Trail-Rated badges.
Jeep couldn’t have built something as capable as the Compass in a compact package if not for a commitment to cutting-edge technology. That’s also why you’ll find touches like a 10.1-inch infotainment touchscreen, bigger than many of the optional “big” screens in competing vehicles, come standard with the Compass. Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ come standard with this revolutionary system and there is an available wireless charging pad too. The available premium stereo comes with 9 speakers and is made by Alpine®, a trusted name in the world of automotive stereo systems. LED reflector headlights are standard with even more powerful LED projector headlights available. Safety tech is impressive, with things like Blind-Spot and Cross-Path Detection, Active Lane-Management System, and Hill-Start Assist all included to keep you one step ahead of danger.
It’s obvious when you see the Compass that you’re looking at a Jeep. The brand's popular design heritage translates easily to the Compass, hinting at the SUV’s capabilities. Jeep gives you a long list of appearance options from fascia and wheel flare color options to a wide range of wheels in sizes up to 19 inches. There are two-tone paint options to reflect a personality as unique as your own and even the side mirrors are available in either body color or gloss black. To set it apart just a bit more, the Trailhawk also comes with a large black hood decal. The interior is full of natural light thanks to the available dual-pane panoramic sunroof and you’ll find quite a few trim-specific aesthetic touches.
