About the Dodge Hornet

Ready to experience the next generation of Dodge performance in the form of an athletic compact SUV? The dynamic Dodge Hornet may be small in size but it’s big on attitude. Available with your choice of a thrilling turbocharged 2.0-liter engine or an advanced electrified plug-in hybrid powertrain – it’s your turn to help write the next chapter in the history of Dodge performance. Regardless of which one you choose, standard all-wheel drive means you’ll be prepared for whatever the weather has in store for your weekend plans. Inside the driver-focused interior of the Hornet, you’ll find an impressive list of technology features including the groundbreaking Uconnect® 5 infotainment system featuring smartphone integration. A full suite of active safety features means that you’ll always have a helping hand when you need it most. Other premium features like leather-trimmed upholstery, dual-zone climate control, and Harman Kardon® Premium Sound System help showcase how the exhilarating Dodge Hornet is far from your ordinary compact SUV.

What the Critics Say

“Where the Hornet beats its competition, though, is in its spunky on-road demeanor. Dodge has also equipped every model with a generous list of standard features that includes a digital gauge display, the company's most up-to-date infotainment interface, and a host of driver-assistance features including automated emergency braking with pedestrian and cyclist detection.” – Car and Driver “The great thing about the Hornet is that you don’t need to spend more than the minimum. The base 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder “Hurricane” engine makes 268 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque. With it, the Hornet hits 60 mph in 6.5 seconds, which is already quicker than just about every competing model. It has a fat power curve, so you can step on the throttle anytime and it’ll take off.” – MotorTrend

What’s New For 2024

Following its successful launch just last year, the Dodge Hornet returns for 2024 with one significant update. Making history as the very first plug-in hybrid vehicle in the history of the Dodge brand, the all-new Hornet R/T joins the lineup in 2024 with 288 horsepower and 32 miles of all-electric driving range. Now with four trim levels to choose from, there’s never been a better opportunity to experience all that the thrilling Dodge Hornet has to offer.

Dodge Hornet Features

Thrilling Performance

With performance infused into its DNA, the Dodge Hornet offers your choice of two potent powertrain choices. Included as standard is a turbocharged 2.0-liter engine that cranks out a robust 268 horsepower and 295 lb-ft of torque, paired with the confidence of a standard all-wheel drive system for maximum control in both dry and slippery conditions. Making history as the first PHEV in the storied history of the Dodge brand, the Hornet R/T comes equipped with a sophisticated 1.3L I4 DOHC Direct-Injection Turbo paired with an onboard battery pack. This plug-in hybrid boasts 288 horsepower along with a jaw-dropping 383 lb-ft of torque. The available Segment-Exclusive PowerShot feature delivers a boost of up to 30 horsepower for the Hornet. Hornet R/T models can rocket from 0 to 60 MPH in just 5.6 seconds on its way to a top speed of 128 MPH. Say goodbye to range anxiety concerns with a combination of up to 32 miles of all-electric driving range and a total driving range of up to 360 miles. Selectable drive modes, steering wheel paddle shifters, and a responsive 9-speed automatic transmission help drivers experience the adrenaline-pumping performance of the Dodge Hornet.

Race-Inspired Interior

Designed with race-inspired elements, the surprisingly spacious interior of the Dodge Hornet delivers an impressive blend of versatility and refinement. Keeping you held firmly in place during high-speed cornering, available sports seats finished in Perforated Alcantara® with Red Backing and Black Scuba Shark Bolsters with Red Accent Stitching (Hornet Track Pack models) offer a mix of support and comfort. Also available are heated and ventilated front seats, perfect for helping you adapt to whatever the temperature looks like outside. Mounted directly on the steering column, available aluminum paddle shifters are perfect for staying in the sweet spot of the power band. Delivering a truly immersive listening experience inside the Dodge Hornet is an optional Harman Kardon® Premium Sound System with 14 speakers including a dedicated subwoofer. One touch of a button can open the optional power hands-free liftgate to access the impressive 27 cubic feet of rear cargo space behind the rear row of seating.

Innovative Technology

Next-level technology and connectivity features are yet another advantage of the Dodge Hornet. Included as standard is the revolutionary Uconnect® 5 Touchscreen Radio that features a 10.25-inch display along with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone integration. Drivers will enjoy customizable, convenient, and easy to use menu structures within the system for effortless access to their favorite features. In addition, a standard 12.3-inch Instrument Cluster lets you view key drive information at a glance. Hornet R/T models include a Hybrid Electric Pages app to monitor efficiency and remotely access vehicle features right form the palm on your hand. A full collection of advanced driver-assistive safety features helps to keep you one step ahead of danger. Examples include Automatic Emergency Braking with Pedestrian Detection, Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go, LaneSense® with Lane Keep Assist, and Forward Collision Warning with Full Stop.
